The OWL (Otterbourne Wildlife Lodge) was a collaboration between Otterbourne C of E Primary School (including the children), Bentley SIP Systems (Bentley-SIPs) and WGADD. The project took full advantage of the site’s natural assets being located on a Site of Importance for Natural Conservation. The aim was to provide a self-contained, sustainable, environmentally friendly base for both the school and community use. The ‘hobbit style’ design of the OWL was requested by the school/ children to be different to their normal school environment, to suit the natural surroundings and to become an inspirational base for life learning within the natural environment.
