The clients approached WGADD with a proposal to remove an existing timber garage to provide a larger garage, utility and two additional bedrooms for a growing family.

The proposal provided A two-storey side extension connected through to the existing dwelling with a minor internal redesign to the existing ground and first-floor plans. The ground floor layout supplied the client with a garage and utility area connected to the existing kitchen.  The first floor provided two additional single bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, a larger family bathroom and an en-suite to the master bedroom.  Due to the clients’ link to the construction industry profession, they decided to undertake this as a self-build keeping the overall cost as low as possible. Since completion, they have received many positive comments from the local residents that the design is sympathetic to the original dwelling and about the impressive quality of workmanship.
